Overview
Home Sanity ("the App") is a home maintenance tracking application. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is stored, and your rights.
Data Storage
All of your asset, task, and maintenance data is stored locally on your device using your browser's storage. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the calendar sync feature, which publishes a calendar file to enable subscription from calendar apps.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
- We do not track your location
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties
- We do not create user accounts or require login credentials
Analytics
The App may use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics such as page views and performance metrics. This data is not personally identifiable and is used solely to improve the App.
Calendar Sync
If you choose to enable calendar sync, the App generates an .ics calendar file containing your task names, asset names, and due dates. This file is stored using Vercel Blob storage to provide a subscribable calendar URL. No other personal data is included in this file.
Cloud backup & family sync
If you use Cloud Sync in Settings, a structured copy of your home maintenance data (assets, tasks, and related fields you entered) is stored in our Supabase database so you can sync across devices and share a household code with family. We do not use this storage for advertising. Treat your household code like a password: anyone with the code can join that shared dataset.
Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., Amazon for purchasing maintenance supplies). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all App data at any time by using the "Reset All Data" option in Settings, or by clearing your browser/app storage. Uninstalling the App will also remove all stored data.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
